MAY PEACE BE UPON YOU
is a leading community service organisation rooted in tradition and driven by purpose. Established in the late 19th century as a kin-based self-help group by early migrants from Kadayanallur, SKML has grown in tandem with Singapore’s development—evolving into a dynamic, inclusive NGO that serves the wider community while remaining deeply connected to its Indian (Tamil) Muslim heritage.
Today, SKML is the largest Indian Muslim Organisation (IMO) in Singapore, actively championing social welfare, cultural preservation, and educational empowerment. Through charitable initiatives, youth development programmes, and vibrant cultural events, SKML continues to strengthen communal bonds and foster a spirit of service, unity, and shared identity.

OUR STORY
From the late 19th century beginnings with the Muslim Improvement Club, to the founding of SKML in 1941 amidst World War II, our journey has been one of resilience, unity, and service.
Anchored in Kadayanallur Street and strengthened by milestones like the Umar Pulavar Tamil School (1946), SKML has continuously championed education, culture, and community welfare for Indian Muslims in Singapore.
